Holocaust Remembrance Day 2024

On January 25, 2024 the Consulate General of Italy  and the Italian Cultural Institute in Los Angeles commemorated the Remembrance Day with readings of female holocaust survivors and performances by actresses Kathy Barnes, Anne Leyden, Dina Morrone, accompanied by virtuoso pianist Peter Walsh (TAGS). Their passionate interpretations and Peter Walsh’s musical touch enriched and made the experience memorable, helping to make the tribute to the victims of the Holocaust meaningful and reflective.

Consul General of Israel to the Pacific Southwest, Israel Bachar, attended the ceremony together with Consul General of Italy in Los Angeles, Raffaella Valentini. His presence helped reinforce the importance of commemorating this historic moment together.

On the occasion of the Remembrance Day,  Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, delivered a speech at Yad Vaschem, the world center for Holocaust research, documentation, education and commemoration, that can be listened at the following link:
