Students and alumni of some leading Los Angeles Universities filled the Roberto Rossellini Auditorium at the Italian Cultural Institute for the screening of “Scialla!”, written and directed by Francesco Bruni. The event was part of an initiative launched by the Italian Cultural Institute and aimed at bringing L.A. students closer to Italian contemporary cinema.
A box office success in 2011, “Scialla!” was very well received in L.A.. The public enjoyed the intensity and freshness of the story, appreciating the acting skills of Fabrizio Bentivoglio, Barbara Bobulova and of the newly discovered Filippo Scicchitano. This was the second event of a program that brought together University of Southern California, UCLA e Loyola Marymount University. The next appointment is set for the month of May with the screening of Nessuno mi puo’ giudicare by Massimiliano Bruno and with still greater involvement of L.A. academic institutions.
