Italian “Handmade Cinema” in Santa Barbara (1 febbraio 2013)

Italian filmmaker and documentarist Guido Torlonia was featured at the Santa Barbara Film Festival with the screening of the documentary “Handmade Cinema”. Torlonia’s latest work tells the story of the great family of Italian cinema who has saved the heritage of its manual skills and of an art which the entire world envies Cinecitta’, thanks to the hands of special artisans who have passed their skills on from father to son. Ben Hur, Cleopatra, The Name of the Rose, The Leopard, Gangs of New York, Cesare deve Morire and the short film Tiger Boy are some of the films these artisans helped to create.
