On November 5 at the 13th edition of the MIFF Awards at the Italian Cultural Institute in Los Angeles, Paul Sorvino became the recipient of the prestigious Life Achievement Leonardo Da Vinci’s Horse. During the award ceremony Paul received the surprise visit of his daughter Academy Award and Golden Globe winner Mira Sorvino, who presented him with the Leonardo\u2019s Horse. Other winners in MIFF\u2019s 13th edition include \u201cManhunt\u201d for Best Editing (Joe Bini); \u201cFilly Brown\u201d for Best Supporting Actor (Lou Diamond Phillips), and\u00a0 \u201cEden\u201d for Best Director (Megan Griffith) and Best Film. In his opening remarks the Consul General underlined the importance of MIFF\u2019s mission to encourage and support the progress of indie films from around the globe and praised the innovative format that MIFF represents and that its Founder Andrea Galante has successfully promoted.

The Milan International Film Festival is an annual international cinema showcase dedicated to independent movies taking place in Milan each year in May, with the winning artists honored in L.A. in November. Nicknamed by the media as the “Milanese Sundance”, MIFF has been recognized as the official International Cinema exhibition festival of Milan. MIFF existed as a conventional film festival for 8 years, until 2009, when it reinvented itself as MIFF Awards, a brand new genre in the sphere of film events that featured an avant-garde format developed through an unwavering commitment to support independent films.
