Due to the early Chambers\u2019 dissolution on December 28, 2017 and the release of the relative D.P.R. n. 209 on the Gazzetta Ufficiale of the day after, the Italian Parliamentary elections have been called on March 4, 2018. Italian Citizens residing abroad can elect representatives to the Chamber of Deputies and to the Senate of the Republic by voting for candidates who put themselves forward for the overseas constituency.<\/strong><\/p>\n

VOTING is a RIGHT<\/strong> protected by the Italian Constitution, and in accordance with Law no. 459 of 27 December 2001, Italian citizens who live abroad and are registered on the electoral rolls<\/strong> of the overseas constituency can VOTE BY MAIL<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

INFORMATION FOR ITALIAN CITIZENS RESIDING IN THE LOS ANGELES CONSULAR TERRITORIAL JURISDICTION (SOUTH CALIFORNIA, ARIZONA, NEVADA AND NEW MEXICO)<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Any change of address shall be notified to the following e-mail address: losangeles.elettorale@esteri.it<\/a>\u00a0.<\/p>\n

– Italian citizens can also decide to vote in Italy in their Municipality<\/strong> by giving written notice of their choice (OPTION<\/strong>) to the Consulate General no later than January 8<\/strong>. In order to be valid, this notice must be written on unstamped paper and include: the name, surname, date, place of birth, place of residence and signature<\/strong> of the voter. To give this notice you can also use the applicable form available at the Consulate General or downloadable HERE<\/a>. Also, the declaration can be sent via e-mail or using the postal system along with a copy of the identity document of the declarant. As provided by law, voters will be responsible for ensuring that notification of the option sent by post was received in enough time by the Consulate General.<\/p>\n

The choice to vote in Italy may be subsequently WITHDRAWN<\/strong> by written notification sent or delivered to the Consulate General using the same procedures and within the same timeframes for exercise of the option (January 8<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

If you choose to return to Italy to vote, the law does NOT<\/strong> provide for any type of reimbursement<\/strong> for the costs of travel incurred, but only for certain subsidies in the Italian territory.<\/p>\n
