The documents to be presented are the following:<\/p>\n
1) Form to request the registration in Italy of marriage or civil union celebrated outside Italy<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>(Marriage<\/a>, <\/u>Civil Unions<\/a>);<\/p>\n 2) Certified Copy of the MARRIAGE<\/strong> CERTIFICATE<\/strong>, issued by the competent authorities (County Clerk Office<\/a>). The Vital Records office in Arizona does not release a copy of the MARRIAGE LICENSE<\/strong>. The Italian Spouse will thus have to complete a substitute declaration<\/strong> of affidavit (available here<\/u><\/a>);<\/p>\n 3) Apostille<\/a> <\/strong>(declaration of international validity) applied on the Marriage Certificate<\/strong>, issued by the \u201cSecretary of State\u201d of the State in which the marriage or civil union was celebrated\u00a0(list of Secretaries of State<\/a>); the Apostille does not require translation;<\/p>\n 4) Translation <\/strong>in Italian <\/strong>of the Marriage Certificate, <\/strong>it must be complete, typed up and faithful to the original in every aspect (list of translators<\/a>). The format of dates must follow European<\/strong> format: Day\/Month\/Year<\/em>;<\/p>\n 6) Photocopy of the Italian spouse\u2019s Italian valid passport, and a copy of the foreign citizen spouse\u2019s passport. If both spouses are Italian, please each provide a copy of your passport;<\/p>\n 7) If easily available to you, a photocopy of the birth certificate of the foreign spouse \u2013 please note this is OPTIONAL (no translation – if already in English \u2013 and no Apostille).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
