WEEK OF ITALIAN CUISINE IN THE WORLD – 10TH EDITION

Los Angeles, November 2025 – On the occasion of the 10th edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, the Consulate General of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Los Angeles present a series of exclusive events dedicated to promoting Italian gastronomic culture, under this year’s theme: “Italian Cooking: Health, Culture and Innovation.”

“The Week of Italian Cuisine in the World is a unique opportunity to celebrate and share with the public of Southern California the excellence and creativity of Italian culinary tradition. It is also a moment to highlight the role of Italian food in culture, health, and culinary innovation,” said Raffaella Valentini, the Consul General of Italy in Los Angeles.

The initiative, promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, takes place worldwide to showcase Italian gastronomic excellence and strengthen the nomination of Italian cuisine as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, with results to be announced in December 2025.

Key partners of the Week in Los Angeles include Accademia Italiana della Cucina, Eataly, Giallozafferano, and the La Jolla Institute for Immunology, collaborating on innovative and interactive events that combine cuisine, science, and culture.

DISCOVERING PIEDMONT WITH AURORA CAVALLO

On the occasion of the 10th Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, the Consulate General of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Los Angeles invite you to “A Journey Through Piedmont,” a special dinner curated by Aurora Cavallo, alias Cooker Girl, in collaboration with Giallozafferano, Italy’s leading food media brand. Guests will enjoy an authentic culinary journey celebrating the rich traditions of the Piedmont region. Each course reflects Giallozafferano’s mission to promote and share the diversity, creativity, and quality of Italian cuisine worldwide through contemporary interpretations of regional excellence.

HAND-ON COOKING EXPERIENCE WITH AURORA CAVALLO

Join Aurora Cavallo, known as “Cooker Girl”, for an interactive cooking session at Eataly Los Angeles that immerses participants in the techniques and flavors of Piedmontese cuisine.  Participants will learn to prepare signature dishes under her guidance and enjoy a shared tasting of their creations, celebrating Italian culinary traditions in a hands-on, engaging experience.

SCIENCE MEETS ITALIAN CUISINE

La Jolla Institute for Immunology,  San Diego
The La Jolla Institute for Immunology, the Consulate General and the Italian Cultural Institute in Los Angeles will celebrate the encounter between science and Italian cuisine. The event will open with remarks by Professor Alessandro Sette, famous italian immunologist who has been recently awarded the medal of Knight of the Italian Republic, followed by a panel discussion uniting distinguished voices in science and gastronomy: Dr. Sonia Sharma, Director of the Center for Sex-based Differences in the Immune System; Dr. Jacopo Annese, Founder and Executive Director of The Brain Observatory; and Chef Pietro Gallo from the Italian restaurant Civico 1845 located in the iconic Little Italy of San Diego. The conversation will be moderated by Dr. Clarissa Ceruti, Executive Director of ISSNAF – Italian Scientists and Scholars in North America Foundation.

THE ITALIAN ACADEMY OF CUISINE – LOS ANGELES DINNER

The Italian Academy of Cuisine – Los Angeles Delegation presents an exclusive dinner celebrating the Week’s theme “Italian Cuisine: Between Health, Culture, and Innovation.” Michelin-starred Chef Antonio Murè will delight guests with a tasting menu created for the occasion — a journey through the flavors of Italy that combines tradition, creativity, and well-being.

EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL TASTINGS
November 17 to 21, 2025

During the World Week of Italian Cuisine, eight select stores in California and Las Vegas will host tastings of European organic extra virgin olive oil, as part of the EU-funded Ecceamerica Project promoted by UNAPROL and CAP. Visitors can explore the quality, sustainability, and authenticity of the oils and access the Ecceamerica digital recipe book.

Participating retailers: Olive Oil & Beyond (Newport Beach), Al Dente (Los Angeles), Domingo’s Italian Deli (Los Angeles), Sogno Toscano – Santa Monica and The Grove (Los Angeles), Eataly Los Angeles, Eataly Silicon Valley, Eataly Las Vegas.
