Costume designer Piero Tosi recognized at the 5th Governors Awards (November 16, 2013)

Costume designer Piero Tosi was awarded the Honorary Oscar at the fifth annual Academy Governors Awards ceremony on November 16. Other artists awarded during the same night were: actress Angelina Jolie, recipient the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, actress Angela Lansbury, and actor Steve Martin both presented with honorary Oscars. Tosi, who is 86 and lives in Italy, designed costumes for unforgettable movies, such as Senso (1954), The Leopard (1963), Death in Venice (1971), La Traviata (1982). Actress Claudia Cartinale received the award on Tosi’s behalf.
