EUropean Jazz @ UCLA: Opening Reception at the Italian Cultural Institute (October 10-13, 2013)

The Italian Cultural Institute hosted the opening reception for the first edition of EUropean Jazz @ UCLA.  
Among the numerous guests in attendance, about 200 people, there were several key figures of the Los Angeles music scene, representatives from local institutions as well as the General Consuls of the European Countries that together with the IIC  have realized the festival. The countries involved include Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Poland, and Switzerland.

EUropean Jazz @ UCLA, held at Schoenberg Hall, has received the support of the EU and was organized in partnership with UCLA’s Herb Alpert School of Music, Center for European and Eurasian Studies, and Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Performance.

The Festival, a cooperative celebration by Europe of culture, arts and original American music, closed on Sunday, October 13 with the performance of the Italian Jazz Trio featuring Dado Moroni (piano), Marco Panascia (bass) and Andrea Marcelli (drums).
