Mayor Garcetti celebrates the ties with Italy at Consul’s event

Mayor Garcetti was the guest of honor of a special event at the Consul General’s residence in the Hollywood Hills on May 20. The event was aimed at introducing the Italian business community to the Mayor and celebrate the distinct Italian component of Los Angeles multicultural identity.
In his official welcome to the Mayor, Consul General Perrone placed special emphasis to the unique contribution the Italian culture and heritage have made and continue to make to the development and global appeal of Los Angeles. He went on to introduce the members of the business community and their projects and activities in the City of Angels.
On the eve of the first anniversary of his election win, Mayor Garcetti stated his commitment and determination to work with the Italian institutions and business community to expand even further the trade and investment ties between Italy and L.A., and to strengthen the cultural and artistic cooperation, building on the results of 2013-Year of Italian Culture in the US.
Councilman Joe Buscaino, himself a first generation Italian, was also present at the event.
