Scottsdale, Arizona hosted the first edition of the “Italian Festival” on April 4 and 5. The festival was organized against the spectacular backdrop of the Soleri bridge and plaza designed by legendary Italian architect and Arizona resident Paolo Soleri in the latter part of his career. Honorary guest, Scottsdale Mayor Jim Lane, inaugurated the event, attended also by Honorary Consul Massimo Paolillo. The Italian Association, promoter of the festival, stated its intent to make this an annual appointment with the aim of eventually creating a “Little Italy” area also in Arizona.
