Vezzoli's work showcased in L.A.

Vezzoli's work showcased in L.A.

After the resounding plause received at Rome’s MAXXI (National Museum of XXI Century Art) and at New York’s MoMA (Museum of Modern Art), “Cinema Vezzoli” opens in Los Angeles, at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA). The exhibit explores modern obsession with fame while reflecting the artist’s passion for classic European cinema, for Hollywood’s myth, and for embroidery as a creative means to make a parody of the media intrusion into the private life of those who have risen to stardom. Among the works displayed are “Portrait of Sophia Loren as the Muse of Antiquity”, a series pf portraits of American movie stars and a gallery dedicated to Luchino Visconti. Vezzoli’s work is a commentary on life’s ongoing drama, not swayed by either fame or wealth.
