After the Oscar, Italy seizes another important success in Southern California, this time in sports.
For the first time an Italian athlete conquers the WTA Premier winning the BNP Paribas Open Tournament of Indian Wells. Flavia Pennetta, 32 years old tennist from Brindisi, conquered the tenth title of her career defeating in the final Polish Agnieszka Radwanska with a score of 6-2, 6-1.
