Maserati in San Pedro for the 47th Transpac (July 13, 2013)

Reserved to the faster boats, the third start for the 47th Transpac yacht is scheduled today at 1PM off Pt. Fermin. Among the favorite to win is the Italian Yacht Club boat “Maserati”.
After shuttering by 10 whole days the previous record on the Golden Route, the New York – San Francisco route crossing Cape Horn,  the Maserati left San Pedro today, heading for Honolulu. At its helm, as usual, skipper Giovanni Soldini who leads an international crew. Among them is also John Elkann, a longtime sailing aficionado.
The team is supported by Maserati and co-sponsored by BSI and by Generali, while Zegna Sport, Vodafone Italia and Boero Bartolomeo are official purveiors.
