Myth, Allegory, Emblem. The many lives of the Chimaera of Arezzo presented to the Getty Museum (January 11, 2013)

The Consul General, the director the Italian Cultural Institute and Mr. Federico Frediani  presented the Getty Museum with the new publication “Myth, Allegory, Emblem. The many lives of the Chimaera of Arezzo” curated by the Ministero per i Beni e le Attivita’ Culturali. The publication features the proceedings of the International colloquium held at the J. Paul Getty Museum in Malibu on December 4-5, 2009.
The papers delivered by historians, archeologists, scientists, and conservators at the international conference dedicated to the Chiamaera of Arezzo, deepen the knowledge of this extraordinary masterpiece of Etruscan art by investigating its many aspects, iconographic, archeological, historical, religious as well as technological issues connected to the conservation of the piece.
