The president of Accademia della Cucina visits L.A. (January 17-18, 2013)

The president of the Accademia della Cucina, Prof. Giovanni Ballarini and the Director General Paolo Petroni visited Los Angeles on January 17 and 18. During their stay they met with local restaurant owners and representatives from the food industry. The goal of the visit was to contribute to elevate the already high standards of Italian cuisine in L.A.

The Accademia Italiana della Cucina was born on July 29, 1953 around a dinner table,  when a group of friends heard and agreed with the idea which acclaimed publicist Orio Vergani had long been nurturing: that of founding an academy with the task of safeguarding, together with the traditions of Italian cuisine, the culture of the civilisation of the table, lively and active expression of the entire Nation.

Recognized in 2003 as a cultural institution of the Italian Republic, the Accademia continues today to pursue its fundamental aim of safeguarding and promoting the traditions of Italian cuisine at home and abroad, while at the same time encouraging constant research and improvement.
