Gran Fondo Giro d’Italia draws crowds of bicycle-lovers in Beverly Hills (November 3, 2013)

Ideal weather made the hill climbing lovely at the Gran Fondo Giro d’Italia Beverly Hills last Sunday, with nearly a thousand participants taking part in this splendid event in the luxury capital of the world. The participants rode on two scenic and challenging courses carved into the Santa Monica Mountains and Topanga area. Both courses ended in front of the spectacular Beverly Hills City Hall. The event was endorsed by local and Italian institutions.  Beverly Hills Mayor John Mirish and Consul General Giuseppe Perrone, along with Italian Trade Commission Director Carlo Angelo Bocchi, supported the development of the Gran Fondo event, participating in the different festivities and at the morning countdown at the start of the race. The last event in the 2013 series of the Gran Fondo Giro d’Italia will be in Miami on November 10. (To register and receive more information please visit:  www.gfgiro.com.)
